Thank you for the response. I redownloaded the code and it unzipped as 
expected.

The problem when the wire was disconnected was in my code. I was not 
formatting a printf statement properly which was causing the problem.

Thank you for verifying the behavior when the adapter is disabled.

This is wonderful code with great support.
