<DIV>I’m trying to install the Managment Utility for my TP-Link TL-PA211 

powerline adaptors, which seems to rely on WinPcap 4.1.1.</DIV>

<DIV>I’m running Windows 7 64-bit Professional on a custom built desktop 

pc.</DIV>

<DIV>During installation it says “A previous Version of WinPcap has been 

detected on this system and cannot be removed because in use by another 

application. Please close all the WinPcap-based applications and run the 

installer again”<BR><BR>Now I've never installed WinPcap myself before, and i 

don’t know what i have installed which may have done as a side effect.</DIV>

<DIV>I’ve done some digging and discovered that WinPcap doesn't appear in the 

list of programs to uninstall in programs and features.</DIV>

<DIV>I found packet.dll and wpcap.dll in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 as i ran a full 

search, and i found npf.sys in C:\Windows\System32\drivers all of them had the 

same version of 4.0.0.1040</DIV>
