I'm using that version of WinPCap because the FAQ says that capturing on a WAN/PPP connection is flaky (at best) on later versions of WinPCap.

See here http://www.winpcap.org/misc/faq.htm#Q-5
But now see here http://www.wireshark.org/faq.html#q8.4
and further here http://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/PPP
Dialup Adapter

How can I capture on the GenericDialupAdapter? When I
query the list of adapters from the packet.dll and from wpcap.dll, I don't get
a GenericDialupAdapter interface? Am I querying the DLLs incorrectly, or
is there some predefined constant for the interface name?
Per the FAQ, I am
using WinPCap 3.1 on XP.

Thanks,
Brett
