<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" ><tr><td valign="top" style="font: inherit;">I have a program that uses not-promiscuous mode to detect the opening
of a web browser on a machine.&nbsp; (The program then pops a window the
first time a browser window is opened.)<br><br>It has been working fine on Firefox and IE 7, and Chrome.<br><br>I
upgraded one machine to IE8, and now the popup happens multiple times
per window..&nbsp; It's like the way IE8 communicates is different than other
