The only weird relation I might think of is Microsoft Network Monitor
(MS NetMon) used to capture from dialup/VPN. WinPcap enables it during
installation, but doesn't disable it during the uninstallation.

Please try this:
<br>
1. uninstall winpcap
<br>
2. go to control panel, network connections, choose the wired (or
wireless) network connection, properties
<br>
3. Go to the general tab, choose "Network Monitor Driver" from the list
and hit "Uninstall".

Tell me if it works or not.
<br>

<p>environment: WinXP SP2, Sygate Personal Firewall</p>
<p>I uninstalled winpcpap 3.1 , also uninstalled CoLinux - but in my
network connections (Control Panel) </p>
<p>I still see a "Local Area Connection 3" to "TAP-Win32 Adapter V8
(coLinux)"</p>
<p>Windows tell me "network cable is unplugged"</p>
<p>if its still there - its not totally uninstalled ? deleting it
fails "The connection you selected cannot be deleted"</p>
<p>Control Panel Add.remove program no longer lists WinPcap</p>
<p>my question - how do I delete the residual "Local Area Connection
3" to "TAP-Win32 Adapter V8 (coLinux)" ?</p>
